IDirectFBFont   GetMaxAdvance

Get the maximum character width.

DFBResult GetMaxAdvance (
  IDirectFBFont   * thiz,
  int   * ret_maxadvance
);

This is a somewhat dubious value. Not all fonts specify it correcly. It can give you an idea of the maximum expected width of a rendered string.
